Kenny Rogers at Valley Forge Music Fair

UPPER MERION >>With its recent Kenny Rogers concert, Valley Forge Casino Resort resonated with its most viable connection yet to the old Valley Forge Music Fair, the long-gone Devon venue whose spirit it has strived to echo.

Rogers closed the original Music Fair 19 years ago and returned Dec. 18 to grace the much-loved stage’s revival, also christened Valley Forge Music Fair, and to close out his own Christmas touring career with the suitably titled “Once Again It’s Christmas” show, featuring country singer Linda Davis and students from the Main Line School of Rock and Vocal Fusion.

Invoking the legacy of the much-missed Valley Forge Music Fair to fit its new entertainment strategy in King of Prussia, Valley Forge Casino Resort has booked such notable acts as Heart, a band that had never played the original venue, Smokey Robinson and now Rogers, both longtime veterans of the Devon showplace.

“Kenny Rogers has a long and sentimental relationship with the Valley Forge Music Fair,” said Jim Rigot, president and CEO of Valley Forge Casino Resort. “Having these young and incredibly talented local musicians perform alongside him on stage is the perfect way to celebrate his final concert here in the region.”
