Downingtown to continue using ‘SafeStop’ app

Safestop

DOWNINGTOWN >> The Downingtown Area School board members last week agreed to another one-year contract to use an app called “Safestop.”

The app allows parents to stay informed about their child’s school bus arrival and departure times. SafeStop bus locator app, an innovative mobile app, connects the district’s parents and its school officials with information on the buses transporting their students to school and from school.

The agreement will allow parents to sign up with SafeStop for the service for $2 per month. The district will receive 55 cents of the $2 back in a rebate. The $1.45 goes toward SafeStop to cover its costs. The agreement additionally includes a maintenance fee of $9,650 for the 2016-17 school year.
