West Chester Borough works to make public information more accessible

WEST CHESTER >> Sunshine Week ended last Saturday, and the borough has already made some improvements to its website in an effort to make public information more accessible.

In honor of Sunshine Week, which is “a national initiative to promote a dialogue about the importance of open government and freedom of information,” according to www.sunshineweek.org, Digital First Media rated the online accessibility of public information for West Chester, Media Borough, the city of Coatesville and Upper Darby Township, based on criteria provided by the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association.

After an article ran last week with the findings of this sunshine test, West Chester Chief Information Officer William Mann reached out to Digital First Media to discuss ways that the borough is working to make its information accessible to as many people as possible.
